Under the banner of Ceramic Tiles of Italy and in cooperation with the Italian Trade Commission ICE, Confindustria Ceramica is showcasing the best of Italian ceramic tile production at the AIA Convention & Design Exposition, the annual convention of the American Institute of Architects.
This year’s event, held in Miami from 10 to 12 June 2010, explores the theme of “Design for the New Decade”. Under the mark created to promote the Italian tile industry’s image and products worldwide, Confindustria Ceramica is once again taking part in this major convention open exclusively to American architects who are members of the institute. The event gives these professionals the opportunity to acquire AIA membership credits through participation in the packed programme of conferences and education seminars.
Ceramic Tiles of Italy’s participation in AIA Miami consists of a 75 square metre exhibition stand designed by architects Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda and displaying more than 70 samples of tiles supplied by thirty Italian companies. Attendees can admire the latest 2010 novelties in all their variety, quality and aesthetic sophistication, with particular focus on the products that are most in vogue in Florida, eco-sustainable products, low-thickness and large-format sizes, and technically advanced installation systems.
The splendid location also features an info and documentation point for the Italian ceramic industry where attendees can pick up company catalogues and informative and promotional literature. The importance of the event is demonstrated by the direct presence of Italian ceramic companies such as Atlas Concorde, Imola Ceramica, Lea North America and Il Palagio along with adhesives manufacturer Mapei.
AIA is a highly prestigious event and an excellent opportunity to discover the latest new developments in the field of urban architecture and interior design. The decade-long presence of the Ceramic Tiles of Italy mark at the convention (the 2011 event will be held in New Orleans from 12 to 14 May) testifies to the commitment of Confindustria Ceramica and ICE to promoting the Italian ceramic tile industry worldwide, particularly in the key US market which saw a rise in imports from Italy in the first few months of 2010.
